The heartbreak of creativity: a public service announcement

This is awesome! This is perfect for anyone with a creative bone.

Drinking Tips for Teens

ross jobs A version of this piece originally aired on CBC Radio’s “Breakaway.” You can hear the original audio version here .

Hello, I’m Ross Murray, beloved columnist, salad dressing connoisseur and author of the best-selling self-help book Don’t Kid Yourself, Mister. Today, I’d like to talk about a condition that afflicts 2 out of 6 Canadians and in some areas as many as 1 in 3. I’m talking about… creativity.

Creativity can strike anyone, anytime, though probably not before 10 a.m. Creative people are just like you and me, except with weirder clothes and occasionally dubious hygiene. Creativity is a highly distracting affliction, but, with regular treatment and flattery, most creative people lead full, productive lives… Let me try that again: most creative people lead full lives.

There are two types of creativity. Some people are born creative, although early creativity remains difficult to diagnose. Many parents become convinced that their…

Happy Holidays!

Welcome the Colorado Christmas blog hop!

OiCChristmas

I’m very excited to be a part of the Colorado writing group and this exciting blog hop.

This is such an amazing time of year! I love the music, the fun movies, the lights on all the buildings and houses, and the general feeling of joy in the air. One of my favorite past times is sitting in the busy malls and watching the people as they make their purchases. They rush around buying last-minute gifts that need to be shipped before the post office deadlines or they run around in search of that perfect gift for a special someone. I like watching the way they react to the stress, some focus while others fret. Some are singing and smiling to themselves while others seem to be yelling at everyone. It’s like watching a show without having to pay an outrageous price for seats.

To me it’s also a time to be grateful and let the stress of the year fall away. Nothing can be changed this year, the new year is around the corner so I find it’s a time to reflect and count the blessings before we make our New Year’s resolutions.

I had a wonderful 2013 year! Everyone in my family has been healthy and happy this year. My sister had her wedding in June and my brother also got married in August. They were both beautiful! I love weddings! I have such wonderful family and friends I’m successful because of their support.

Most of all I’m grateful for my husband and crazy cat. They make my life so much better! And, as always, I’m grateful for books, writing, and stories, without them life would be so boring.

All of us have our traditions, some of us celebrate with friends and family while some of us celebrate alone. Either way, holidays will always be better curled up with a hot chocolate, or strong eggnog, and a good book.

I would love to hear from all of you the things you are grateful for this holiday season, so leave a compliment to be entered into a drawing. On this blog I’m giving out a $10 gift card to Amazon or 50% off a custom book cover (you can check out my portfolio at http://tabathaheartart.wordpress.com/portfolio/). Please leave a comment letting me know which prize you would like to receive if your name is drawn.

Also remember to visit all the authors in the blog hop to celebrate the Out in Colorado Holidays!

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

My First Time… with Storm Moon Press – Tabatha Heart

Top 2 Bottom Reviews

My name is Tabatha Heart, and I’m a newly published author. Actually Storm Moon Press would be the first publisher to ever offer me a contract. After two rejections from other publishers, I honestly never thought my writing would ever be published. But Storm Moon Press saw the potential in my story and offered me the contract.

I love that Storm Moon Press works with aspiring authors. The editor had the patience to work with me to make my story much stronger and was a guide to help me become a better writer and a published author.

My first published story (and hopefully not my last) was published in the anthology Out in Colorado. The idea for the anthology started with a group of gay romance writers whom all live in Colorado. We came up with the idea to write an anthology about our home state. With that, the

Thank you for taking some down time and spending it with us. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

When not out raising zombies from their graves and plotting the world’s demise, you can find me typing, obsessively hoping to finish another story. My passion for life has always been in writing, especially paranormal, because there is a darker side in all of us.

When not writing, playing my fiddle, or skiing, I can be found with a book in hand. My husband blesses the advent of ebooks—they’re staving off the day the house collapses from the weight of the printed page. 😉

When you received news that your manuscript had been accepted by Storm Moon Press, what were the first words that fell from your mouth?

The first words out of my mouth when I was accepted by Storm Moon Press were: “OMG! I’m actually going to…
