I’ve read several complaints about 2012 and it’s true it hasn’t been the best year. But New Year’s is about being grateful for where we have been, where we are, and where we are going. So, let’s remember the past, but more importantly, look forward to the future.
I started this blog in February 2012, obviously something for me to be grateful for. I wrote, edited, submitted, and received a rejection on my first novel this year, not many could say that. I also sold my first cover art. I met some amazing friends at GRL and I’m looking forward to attending next year!
I have found several great TV shows and seen epic movies this year. I have also discovered great new authors and their amazing stories. Too bad I don’t have more time to just get lost in those stories *sigh*.
I attended only weddings this year and no funerals so I consider myself very lucky for that. I’m grateful I made it through the year without too many hiccups and how much I have grown. I have my beautiful husband and my cute-as-a-button cat. I also got my Master’s degree this year and my husband got his bachelors! I’m an absolute believer in being a life-long learner!
I got to see my sister and brother this year for the holidays and they both live out of state. My brother also got engaged! I had Christmas at my house with my parents and got to see my in-laws. So the holidays were very good but went much too fast.
I also have mixed feelings about the apocalypse not happening. Mostly I wanted to see if I could survive the zombie’s rising or an alien invasion or maybe a new reign of Furbys over mankind. Although, the moon exploding or a comet strike may have been pretty and devastating all at the same time, it still would have been a pretty awesome apocalypse. Therefore, I’m kind of disappointed in the Mayan calendar for that.
Although I had a great 2012 I’m looking forward to 2013. Also grateful that we made it to 2013. I hope that this will be filled with even more weddings and amazing stories of greatness. So goodbye 2012 and hello 2013! This year will be a good one. So celebrate safely and keep writing!
